Hatha Yoga
Manage Stress with Traditional Hatha Yoga
Practising Traditional Hatha Yoga under a qualified teacher is an ideal way to manage stress. The mindfulness required to practice Asana (physical movement and postures) is combined with Pranayama (breath control) to regulate the 'fight or flight' stress response and release endorphins into the bloodstream.
The NHS website states: 'Yoga focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. There is evidence that regular yoga practice helps people with high blood pressure, heart disease, aches and pains (including lower back pain), depression and stress.'
Yoga is a well-established method of improving and maintaining physical and mental health. It may be practised safely by anyone, regardless of size, age, shape or physical condition.
A typical Yoga session is a combination of postures, breathing exercises and relaxation that will restore vital energy, flexibility and core strength to the body and calm the mind.
All sessions are taught face-to-face to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and that individual guidance may be provided to everyone in the class.
